Truth in your eyes

Your eyes told me the truth
So, don’t try to hide the veracity
They never lied to me
Nor I think they can ever do
I saw the surging grief in them
Like I saw the love once upon a time
They told me about the future
Or should I say futureless-ness
They told me that I’m a stranger
More alien than someone from Mars
They told me that you are moving on
And have banished me to oblivion
I know the meaninglessness of tears
Which are threatening to fall
I know I have to let you go
I know I have to forget
And hope that you will come back
To be with me forever one day …

A dream

Here is a short one... One love, on dreams... Hope you all will like it...
--------------------------------------------------------------

A thoughtful look, a knowing smile,
Suddenly, the earth stops moving.
A touch, a brush of the hand,
The sensation causes my heart to soar.
A whisper, the soft sound of your voice
Everything inside me melts.

A wish, a dream, a hope with wings
That silently says - our hearts are one,
Our souls are one and will always be
A dream we are one… Forever.

Silence, tears n' rain

Sometimes silence is so loud and strange
And can be heard across a thousand miles
May be rain can hide those tears for a while
Which keep flowing without any constraints

But won’t this rain stop one day
And expose those silent tears?
Wont these raindrops stop its cold grip
And my hot tears stop its masquerade?

Sometimes, I wish for at least a voice
Which can kill this cold and bitter silence
And their monotonous tone of accusations
And their never-ending complaints

And I hope that the rain stops for now
And you have a little time to spare
And listen carefully to my tears
When my tears start to speak slowly
In their special and secret language
And you can understand it perfectly…

He and she

He asked: “Why do you love me,
Even when I hurt you?
Even when I have nothing to offer?
Even when world is against us?”

She smiled and walked away
Hiding those tears which threatened
To fall and form another stream
But, never answered that question

In her silent tears,
In her heart was the answer
Which was evident like daylight,
Which he failed to see or understand.
She whispered to herself:
“Will he ever understand
Why gardener loves his roses
Though they have hurting thorns?
Will someone tell him
Why a mother loves
Even her most deformed child?
Is it beyond his understanding
That love is beyond all reasons?”

Park Bench

One of my lengthy poems... I felt that this poem deserved its length considering the fact that it more of a story than a poem:-)
----------------------------------------
Sitting on your regular park bench
Watching the people around
Deep in your own thoughts
Smiling occasionally
With sun rays playing with your silver hair
What a pretty picture you make!

Did I see your eyes shining?
Watching the little girl with her father
Leading him with her little hands
Dancing the way around
Talking in a serious tone
May be about the life’s mysteries

Did I see a naughty grin?
Watching that bunch of girls
Heads together in secret
Hands on shoulders
Talking in those hushed tones
May be about a big conspiracy

Did I see a knowing smile?
Watching that young couple
Holding each other hands
Moving in unison
In their own dream world
Oblivious to the world around

Did I see a tender smile?
Watching that mother and son
Son asking his umpteen doubts
And mom trying to answer
And match his speed
With pride in her little wonder

Did I see a sad smile?
Watching that mom and daughter
Obviously in argument
Talking in the angry tones
Trying to make each understand
Yet not ready to compromise

Did I see a nervous smile?
Watching that lonely woman
Lost in her own thoughts
May be talking to herself
Walking with long strides
Not a companion with her

Did I see a warm smile?
Watching that kid with his grandpa
So comfortable with each other
Showing off his latest bruise
And watching in awe
The bigger bruises his grandpa has

Did I see that contented smile?
Watching the grandpa walk towards you
With his usual slow smile
Slowly taking your hands in his
Helping you to your feet
As if his world is only you

Still sitting on that park bench
Watching you walk away
Thinking about myself
Wondering about life
Will I be as contended as you
In the years to come?

Lost in Love

Like a lit candle in the bright sunlight
Like a tear drop in the vast ocean
Like a sand grain in an endless dessert
Like a musical note in a concert
Like a word in a bulky best-seller
I am lost in your love…

After hours...

Morning rain ended a long, disturbed night
Dull rays of sun brought a sorrowful light
The soaked pillow accounts for my grief
Memories of you brought me a smile so brief
Moving away from you, I pierced my heart
And realized that I have hardly a life apart

With deep love, I'd always remember
Of your beautiful heart that's so tender
Dreaming of your touch, so soft
My heart would break in a blister
Of the warmth of your lips, so gentle
Memories of mine would be eternal
The magic I thought is lost is still within
With the warmth of love ever rolling
Again and again in each moment
I wish I had asked you on the first moment...

Night Traveler

I wrote this poem sometime back... Though, I wont say that it is one of my best poems, I like it and it looks like others like it too... Here, I am puttig it down again...

I am a night traveler
Travel all through the night
And my bed is a sailing boat
I reach for my bed every night
And take a trip places far away
To see new things and people

I travel past the harbors
Full of anchored boats
I travel past the beaches
With swaying coconut trees

I watch the waves
Embracing the shore
I watch the kids playing
And reach out my arms

Then I touch my own bed
Here comes a flash
And my boat is back
And I am back in bed

My boat sails every night
And reach home with morning light
Never did it anchor once
Still traveling every day
Hoping to reach
That unknown destination

Today, tomorrow and forever

It’s so long since you left me
And went in search of what called your heart
I still think of our days together
I still dream of tomorrow
Even while knowing the truth
That this today doesn’t even exist for you

I still believe and dream on tomorrow
And everything it would bring
May be I will gain it all back
Along with a face I love
Hoping that you will come back
And carry me away from these lonely nights

It’s not easy on me
Each day brings tougher challenges
Going through each word you sent me
From those mangled letters
May be you don’t remember those words
Because it’s all past for you now
And must have melted away long back
And present have supplanted the past

But for me they are past, present and future
And they drag me to our days
Yet they say “move on”
Along with those hidden pictures
I have hidden my feelings too
So that no one sees them
But if only you know
That you still remain in me
And there is a space for you
Today, tomorrow and forever….

Whispering Rain

With a hot cup of coffee
I sat on my chair, by the window
Watching a thousand raindrops fall
Dancing to some unsung melodies

Reaching out to me
With its soothing little fingers
Caressing my cheeks wet by tears
Slowly washing sadness down

Whispering those little nothings
Knowing how to ease my pain
Telling me that I am not alone
May be shared their sorrows too.

Journey of Life

Life is a long, long journey
Let’s take it one day at a time
Holding it dear and relish.
Let’s journey together
And hold each others hands
As we sing and step together.

Let there be road blocks
Let there be bad weather
Let there be gains or losses
Let there be smiles or tears
Let’s move together
Today and the days to come.

Let’s not undermine our worth
Nor compare us; with others
Let’s know that we are different
And that we are special
Let’s not set our goals
By yardsticks of this world
Cos we know what’s best for us
And let’s prove it again.

Let’s not take things for granted
And all those close to our hearts
Cling to them as would your life
Cos life lose meaning minus them
Let’s see each others worth
And what we are without the other.

Let’s not slip life through our fingers
By living in past or for future
Let’s live life one day at a time
And live all days of our life.

Let’s not give up anything
When we have fighting strength in us
Nothing can really be over
Until we stop trying
Let’s forsake our fears
Knowing we are together
Let’s take those chances
And learn to be braver.

Let’s not shut love, out of our life
Thinking of pains to find it
Know that love can be found by giving
Than waiting to receive.
Let’s not hold it too tight
With the fear of losing it.
Let’s give it wings
And let it soar to skies
And bring more than it had
And let it engulf us once again.

Let’s not dismiss our dreams
For they are to be kept close
Without dreams there is no hope
And without hope there is no purpose.

Let’s not run through our life
Like it is another mad rush
Let’s not forget where we went
Let’s also know where we are going
Let’s treasure each moment
And let’s journey together.
